Colder than a witch’s tit in a brass bra face down in a snow drift… minus 23 degrees … Brr Rabbit

Warm clothing for Antarctica or any cold conditions, these principles apply to anywhere when the temperature starts to drop and the wind to blow. The “layer method” of dressing is more effective than a single bulky garment. Several layers are built up, each of which has its own part to contribute, insulating air is trapped between as well as within layers, flexibility is maintained as conditions change.

One of the coldest air masses in years will envelop the Midwest and the Northeast this week bringing potentially life-threatening low temperatures to the Chicago area that will feel even harsher in tandem with strong winds.

I collect trading cards. Included in my collection is a set from the original JAWS movie. What I found interesting- and a bit disappointing, is none of the cards in the set depict Dreyfuss. Obviously some $$$ issue there.

Probably some money thing. During his interview he bragged about his dispute with Disney over some educational thing he made “Funny, You Don’t Look 200” and how he now sells it to schools.
I think Richard is a dick.
      Richard Dreyfuss, I mean.

Cry Cry Cry……Would you believe it is -119 up here?! Just Jack London & I building our fire.

Sue is so brave…I just stayed home and watched the JAWS marathon on TV…no Richard Dreyfuss, but at least I had Dan who put logs on the fire and brought me wine, so I consider it a win! Survived the cold…going in to sub for the day…needed to make a little pocket change! Can’t wait for the Barnaby’s soiree.

Well the event was a disappointment. Richard Dreyfuss was on the stage talking about his career for over an hour then he left and they played the movie. I thought he was going to do commentary throughout the movie and I’d learn all kinds of neat Jaws trivia, but no. It was fun to watch the movie with a bunch of true Jaws fans but not on one of the coldest days of my life. But yes, I am brave. Or as my grand daughter would say, I put my brave on.

PattiB- You are sooo blessed to have Dan. Does he have a brother? Sister?

Is that a picture of one of those Canada Goose jackets? I just learned about them. Do you know they’re trimmed with coyote fur? Like yuck. And the knock off ones are trimmed with dog or cat fur. Like super yuck.

Like the Brrrrr…rabbit joke! Last night my neighbor report 3 “healthy coyotes” walking by our homes at around 10:20pm. Yeesh! Sparky is being a trooper, and seems excited by the cold. Yesterday, I drove to a large store and just walked him around. Plus, we shoveled large trenches in our yard, like a maze through the deep snow, so our small dog can run the paths. Air temp is minus 13 right now, up 12 degrees since I got up this morning, and up 17 degrees from the minus 30 the night before last (that is air temp, not wind chill which was minus 42.)

This is how I’m doing it. I’m reading a Tom Corcoran novel, set in Key West, with my Key West Street map close by for easy reference. And I got my ticket to see Richard Dreyfuss at a screening of JAWS tomorrow night. Winter be damned!

    • avatar Janis says:

That sounds incredibly fun, Sue! What a great event.

    • Jim Gilbert Jim Gilbert says:

Don’t think Dreyfuss has been in any credible movie since then, except maybe ‘What About Bob?’, which we can volley with, “What about Richard?” I’m sure he appreciates the funding.

No school, no work, no Amtrak service, no mail delivery, no milk or bread, but I have my stock of wine, so I won’t even remember these two days of extreme cold!
Be safe Streeters. wherever you reside!

Their cars won’t start.. their heat is off.. no food… no water…

But wait… the worst is that they are outta gin… Oh, the humanity!

And Ludy, in Florida, is laying by the pool basking in the sun with a cool Kendrick G&T in hand and a frozen umbrella drink on the way..
