Just found out that Joe Brown wrote his own obituary. What a guy! Took care of everything!

To Mary and the entire Brown Family,
It is hard to keep a tough Marine down…as Sue said he rallied so many times but finally he heard taps being played and he knew it was time to rest. Treasure the memories of this great dad, great Marine, great man!!!

Joe Brown and Buddy Myers were my witnesses when I became an American citizen November 1971. The Browns were among our first friendly neighbors when we moved to Seeley Street. No judgments, only acceptance. I’ll never forget that.

Please provide information on Joe Brown’s passing. Thanks.

As Mary so eloquently put it, Joe Brown crossed the rainbow bridge Sun 12:15 pm. His family was with him. I’ll post arrangements when I know them but it will be at Cooney’s and watch for notices in both the Trib and SunTimes. This guy rallied more times than we can count and he’s truly a hero in my book.
