The ice chest was in commission again today for the Birthday Baked Potato Bar. My daughter Annie is in Chicago with her boyfriend, both of them celebrating their bdays. Since it’s a total Chicago weekend for them I filled the cooler with Goose Island. And a few Old Styles.

Spent a great part of the weekend watching old re-runs of Ozzie and Harriet and listening to Ricky Nelson…great voice and so cute…really a rock and roll icon…not to mention he looks very much like a young Richard Baumann!
Don’t know if I had requested a lot of Ricky Nelson on the website, but I am now…Richard, how about “Poor Little Fool”, It’s Up to You” and “Travel’in Man!
Can’t wait to party with the Richard and the rest of the Streeters over the Christmas holiday!

Sue, bring the cooler around and son, John will fill it up with some test beer from Goose Island. I’m starting a side business for him. He’s taking the old bourbon barrels they use for the beer and making them into furniture. So far, a beautiful headboard for his bed and a bar he made for the cabin (because we need more liquor storage for the cabin). Not to mention the Begyle brewery sign he made for his wall. Pictures to follow.

Correction: there was good German beer at the MMM. Well, I had a Bloody Mary. This beer was for my Day of the Dead party. And where is everybody?
