“Be adequate to each other!”
Hi Streeters! Paul and I will watch the third Bill and Ted movie tonight, “Bill and Ted Face the Music.” (The title of this post is one of my favorite quotes from the New York Times review about this comedy duo.) We were all lame teenagers once, and thanks to reuniting, we can aspire to be again!
Mike’s Birthday Celebration!
e. e. cummings poem for spring
“sweet spring is your
time is my time is our
time for springtime is lovetime
and viva sweet love
(all the merry little birds are
flying in the floating in the
very spirits singing in
are winging in the blossoming)
lovers go and lovers come
awandering awondering
but any two are perfectly
alone there’s nobody else alive
(such a sky and such a sun
i never knew and neither did you
and everybody never breathed
quite so many kinds of yes)
not a tree can count his leaves
each herself by opening
but shining who by thousands mean
only one amazing thing
(secretly adoring shyly
tiny winging darting floating
merry in the blossoming
always joyful selves are singing)
sweet spring is your
time is my time is our
time for springtime is lovetime
and viva sweet love”

Happy Valentine’s Day, 2017 to Seeley Kids Everywhere!
Birthday Boy Richard Celebrates!
Well, the celebration began on August 13th so we can just imagine how crazy the party is by now! Richard’s birthday is this Saturday, August 27th and in honor of his special day (and the Seeley National Holiday that I have just declared!) here is a video honoring his joyous spirit!
Happy St. Pat’s!
Hi Richard, Mike and all you streeters! Happy St. Pat’s from here in NYC where the parade is in full swing, and the city is more nuts that usual. Case in point: I just came in from walking Sparky and either was the victim of an attempted mugging, or two really weird men were so drunk that they had the appearance of scammers on these lovely streets. Long story short, after running into me while I was walking the dog three times, the younger one hit me so hard on the back that I can still feel it, and it is a credit to working my core exercises that it didn’t knock me to the curb. I would guess drunkenness, but I was under a block long scaffolding that obscured the street, and after finishing my neighborhood walk, the same two guys were now coming the other way, even though I had walked blocks in four directions. Millions of tourists are in the city today, so I suppose the crimes of opportunities are way up? Ah, New York! So Happy St. Pat’s! It was their bad luck to pick a Chicagoan. 😉
